All About Reception

Welcome to Reception

Your child is officially in big school! It is great to be with them at the start of their journey as a member of the Camms school family and we can't wait to watch as they progress into young, independent learners with a love for school.

We are a lively, hard-working, sociable class of 30 children and 4 adults: Mrs Eyre [class teacher], Mrs Kerry[class teacher on Wednesdays], Mrs  Yeomans [class teacher on Thursday]  Mrs Rotherham  and Miss McGregor[teaching assistants]. All of our staff share a passion for working with young children and are happy to speak to you about any worries or concerns.

Our day is centred around learning through play with activities organised both inside and outside. The children have plenty of time to explore, create, question, move, imagine and there are also spaces for quieter activities such as looking at a book or working on a jigsaw. The children will also take part in whole class, small group and one to one tasks with an adult.

We will make full use of our lovely school grounds and will spend lots of time outside [so please make sure they bring a coat everyday].
