Working Hard

We have been finding out why we celebrate Easter

We had a wonderful PE session on Friday with the big apparatus. We pretended to be Jack from our story, crossing bridges, swinging over the river, climbing the mountains; jumping in muddy puddles and finally climbing the beanstalk.

We have been reading ‘Jack and the beanstalk’ and ‘the enormous turnip. We’ve ended the week with World book day activities’

Muddy hands. We have been looking for signs of spring in our forest and found lots of interesting things. We also planted bulbs and seeds near to our special trees to make them feel happier. So in the next few weeks we can see how things we have planted grow.. We had so much fun.

Mental health week - we made socky bugs to cuddle if we are sad or squeeze if we are angry

This week’s learning! We have been building on our basic skills and trying to work together

Today in forest school we have been trying to save the princess from the castle. We crossed the shark infested moat to get to her by working together.

Last week in Forest school we made Rangoli Pictures from natural things we forraged.

We have had a fabulous first week back. We have been finding out about special times of year including Harvest; bonfire night, Diwali and Remembrance day

We have been finding out the little red hen who was very hardworking! We made bread to bring home

Oh no! Spider-Man has been and left a huge web on our playground! Can we get through the spider web and rescue the toys?!

We have been busy writing, drawing, printing and creating!

As part of our ‘Superheroes’ topic we had a visit from Arthur’s dad; James who is a soldier in the army. The children loved hearing all about survival out in the wilderness and trying on the uniform

We had a visit from Helen the physiotherapist who told us how she helps children get better

We also had a visit from PC Stacey who told us how the police force help to keep us safe and how we should not be afraid to speak to them.

First week at big school! We have been very lucky with the weather and managed to get outside lots.  We have settled beautifully, started to learn the new routines and made some friends.

Our first PE lesson! We played lots of listening games with Harry our Qualitas instructor
