  Dear Parents/Carers

   

  Due to the current weather, but more importantly, the recently-issued Amber Warning for S.Yorks, I have taken the difficult decision to close.

   

  When the weather is of the will it/won't it kind, as it is today, this leaves me with the worse of all choices.  The snow doesn't look much, and the roads are OK, but the forecast is very different.

   

  The only choice left to me is to look to the safety of staff and yourselves (as many of the drive) and take the safest course of action.

   

  I would much rather someone grumble at me for closing school (again), than want the potential consequences of a wasted journey would be.

   

  Take care and stay safe.

  Dear All

   

  Due to the weather and dangerous travel conditions, I have taken the decision to close.

   

  From the photos sent to me by Mr Goodwin, the bottom of Castle Hill is proving difficult, and as staff travel from various parts of the area - from Sheffield, Dronfield, Mansfield, Chesterfield and Eyam - the risk of accident is too great to take.
