  • End of Term Thanks

    Fri 24 Jul 2015

On behalf of all of the staff, I would like to say a big THANK YOU for all of our gifts, cards and kind words.

Teachers only go into the profession to make a difference to the lives of children and at Camms, that is always at the forefront of our minds.  So whenever we receive any gifts it is with great thanks and appreciation.

I would like to wish a fond farewell to the 'Class of 2015' and wish them well in the future.  You are a great bunch of kids and will leave  us with fond memories.

    Mr C

  • Wet Day 2015

    Mon 20 Jul 2015 L.Andrews
How jealous am I, the whole of Y5 and Y6 including Mr Cocking, Mr Hill, Mrs Crotty and Mrs Phillipson are out on the field having a whale of a time drenching the kids and vice-versa. A few pictures to make you smile.
  • Past Pupil - Emily Knight

    Mon 20 Jul 2015 Mrs A. Pemberton
Emily Knight who left us five years ago is, at this very moment, out in Borneo where she is doing a four week project.  She financed her trip ( £3960 ) by fundraising events and even getting a part time job as a waitress in a hotel!  Very well done to her and we all wish her luck from Camms!
  • The Show!!

Thu 16 Jul 2015 Mrs Angela Pemberton

A massive thank you to all involved in our super show - DAZZLE!  It was brought to you by a complete team effort.  The whole school community was involved - with even the youngest children in school singing the songs and creating the props.

    We have had rave reviews:

"My report on the show is summed up in one word - WOW!  Definitely one of my favourite shows ever.  Can't wait to buy the DVD!  Well done to kids and teachers.  You have excelled yourselves." Mrs Walker

  • DAZZLE

    Thu 16 Jul 2015 L.Andrews

    Dazzle Photos,

A selection of the photo's will be available to view at the Headteacher's Coffee Morning on Monday. Order forms can be collected from Reception if you can't make it.

Please complete an order form from school and return so we can print these for you. Prints will be A5 size on photocopier paper and will cost 50p each.

The DVD is being formatted over the weekend and some copies made, we ask that Y6 families that are leaving the school permanently get priority for these. Y6 with younger siblings may need to wait until September.   Many thanks

  • Sun Safety

    Fri 10 Jul 2015

Having spoken to some of you over the course of the day, I need to clarify the school's position regarding sun cream.

Generally, during the course of a normal school day, reapplication is not necessary due to the shade we have, and the fact that they are not outside for sustained periods (PE sessions have scheduled breaks).  But for those days when it is a little hotter than normal, we fully endorse the use of sun cream in school and are happy for it to be provided so as to allow a re-application if required.

However, there are are certain limiting factors:

We cannot provide sun cream.  This is due to concerns regarding allergies and reactions to perfumes/chemicals that different brands have.

We cannot allow sharing of sun cream.  Again this is an allergies issue as above.  For siblings see below

We cannot apply the sun cream to the children.  This is a safeguarding / personal care issue.

    So...

In order to ensure protection please ensure that:

You child has a sun hat - wide-brimmed or 'legionnaire' ones are best.

Any sun cream sent into school has your child's name written, and class, on in permanent ink or with a label.  If you have more than one child, ideally they would be better with one each, but please write all of the children's names on one bottle.

I hope this clarifies the situation a little more.  A letter regarding our recent signing up to 'Sun Safe Schools' will also be sent out on Monday with further details.

On Tuesday Reception, Y1 and Y2 ventured to 'Eureka' the children's museum in Halifax. We had a great day out [despite getting rained on after lunch]. We found out about our bodies, sound, different habitats and played in different role-play areas. Here are some pictures, there are more on the class pages.
