    PE and earrings

As mentioned in my newsletter last week (attached again), please be aware of our policy regarding earrings and PE.

If you wish your child to wear earrings at school (small studs and sleepers) then please either provide tape to cover them up, or ensure that your child can remove their own earrings.  School does not provide tape or remove earrings.

There have been a number of children in school this term who have missed PE because of their earrings.  Better still; leave the earrings out on PE days!

We currently allow earrings in school, as long as they are small sleepers or studs, and have no current intention of changing this.  however, if too many children are missing PE lessons because of earrings, then we may have to look again at the policy.

PE is a vital part of the school week and we hate to see them miss-out over something that is easily prevented.

Many thanks for your help in this matter.

  • Jeans for Genes Day Fri 22nd Sept

    Tue 12 Sep 2017
Congratulations - you have raised £125 for the 'Jeans for Genes' charity, just by changing your bottom half.  Great to see children 'daring to be different' in denim skirts, dungarees and a rainbow of jeans colours.
  • Welcome Back

    Sun 10 Sep 2017 Mr C

    WELCOME BACK!!

Great to see everyone looking super-smart with all-red uniform and very shiny shoes (let's hope they stay that way).

This year sees a few changes:  Goodbye Mrs P (sob!); Hello Miss Blacklock (Yay!): A new set of Prefects and House Captains (Watch this space); New School Councillors to help with decisions and a change to the Attendance rewards.

The one this that doesn't change are (let's hear it kids):  THE RULES! If we all follow the rules, play nicely together, speak nicely to one another and treat like we wish to be treated, then it will be another great year.

Apologies in advance (and this is a loooong advance) for any mistakes, errors, omissions, typos, over-sights and general muck-ups that I might cause!  I, like all of the staff, can only do my best and I know that this sometimes falls-short of the standards we expect.

' To err is human; to forgive, divine'.

As always, if there is anything that needs attending to, we have a very open-door school and are happy to speak to you whenever possible.  However, this does not always mean straight-away as our first priority is to teaching and learning.  So please do not be offended if you are asked to make an appointment, or return at the end of the day.  This is also the case for me this year, as I will be teaching on Wednesday mornings in Year 6, so please don't count on my attention then:  I will most likely be reading the 'How to Teach' literature for Heads.

Hope all of this makes sense and see you all at some point!

    Mr C.

  • Mrs P says Thank you

    Wed 06 Sep 2017 L.Andrews
Mrs Pemberton has sent me a picture and asked me to pass on a massive thank you to all whom contributed to her leaving collection. As promised, she has spent the money collected, on a fantastic camera to record her retirement memories (see picture) and has also been enjoying her new puppy which was a retirement present from her children.  We are missing her so much already but we are hoping that she will find time to cover a few classes for us when teachers are on training days.
