  • SNOW UPDATE - 5.21pm - SCHOOL CLOSED 1st March

    Wed 28 Feb 2018

School will be closed tomorrow - 1/3/18

After consulting with staff regarding safety of travel, other cluster heads and the forecast, I will be closing the school for a second day.

I appreciate that this might not be the right decision, but felt that making it early was important for all.

Please keep looking at the website for updates tomorrow.

    Thanks

    Mr C.

  • SNOW UPDATE - 3.30pm

    Wed 28 Feb 2018

the changing and changeable forecast is making a decision about tomorrow very difficuut.

As a cluster of schools, the headteachers are trying to coordinate our approach to make it easier on those of you with multiple children, and it makes more sense.  We hope to make a decision in the next couple of hours.

However, regardless of whether we are open or now, I am postponing the World Book Day coffee morning.  If we are open, I want the childlren to be warm and water-proof, and I'm not sure Princess outfits, or Where's Wally costumes are any good!

We will have the dress-up day and cafe at another time.

    Keep checking back for updates.

    Mr C.

    Wed 28 Feb 2018

    SNOW UPDATE

SCHOOL IS CLOSED TODAY 28/2/18 DUE TO THE WEATHER.

The decision to close has been made with staff and pupil safety in mind.

I appreciate that this may not be the right choice given everyone's personal circumstances and has not been made lightly.

We aim to be open tomorrow, so please keep an eye on the website and Parent Hub for details.

    thanks

    Mr C.

    Currently school is open (6.31am).

Any decision will be based not only on the impact to the children but also staff safety, as many travel from outlying areas such as Dronfield and Sheffield, where the weather can be very different to Eckington.  Also, the decision will be based on the forecast for the day.

No decision is made lightly, and I apologise for any disruption a closure may cause.

    Thanks

    Mr C.

    Please keep looking for updates.
