WELCOME TO CAMM'S!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website, and for considering Camm's as a place for your little one.

Camm’s School is a friendly, exciting place which offers a warm welcome for pupils, parents, staff and governors. We are a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, providing education for pupils aged 3 to 11 years and at present we have over 200 children on roll. The school has a Christian ethos and has created a caring atmosphere in which children are valued and given the confidence to grow. The staff at Camm’s are dedicated and work hard to enable each child to reach his or her potential.

The broad and balanced curriculum is carefully planned to meet the needs of all children. We have high expectations of all adults and children involved in school life, and encourage everyone to do their best. 

As a Church of England School, we base our teaching on Christian Values and use the stories of Jesus and the Bible to help children to develop their spiritual side through understanding and reflection of the lessons told.

At Camm’s we firmly believe education to be a partnership between home and school and actively encourage involvement by parents in all aspects of school life. An effective link between home and school will help your child to have a successful time at our school.

We want children to be prepared for their future by being curious, trustworthy, tolerant, full of respect and pride and have a love for learning.  They have high expectations of themselves and others around them and feel they have the social, emotional and moral well-being to make the right choices in life.  By the time children leave us in Year 6, they should be able to look back and say 'I'm ready for whatever comes next'.

On a more personal note, I will endeavour to do the best for the children in my care each and everyday.  It might sound cliched, but that's what I came into teaching for!  Sometimes the decisions that I make as a head might not be the popular ones, but everything revolves around the philosophy of making childrens' lives better.  

Have a good look around the website - this gives a real flavour of what we are about as a school.  On some pages you will find a blue circular logo as an icon.  In the past we had blue AND red as our our school colours (and yellow too if you want to go even further back), but changed to a single colour in 2017.  However, Camm's is a school proud of its history, and so rather than change all of the icons to the new red, we decided to keep some as a reminder of what we used to be and to not forget what has gone before.  We think this is a nice touch, and hope you do too.
