Christian Aid Week

This year we have decided to support our local church by raising money for the charity, Christian Aid.

Christian Aid is an international development charity who work with people, of all faiths and none, in around 50 countries to eradicate poverty.

Christian Aid Week seemed like the perfect opportunity for our school to get involved in this worthy cause. The school’s charity group met earlier this term and planned a fundraising day for Christian Aid. On Friday 20th May we will be holding a race against poverty, a cake sale and a toy swap.

Children can complete a race against poverty on the school field during the morning for a donation of £1. Some children may be keen to go the extra mile by also getting sponsored for the event! After completing the course, we plan to give the children an opportunity to purchase a cake for 50p. Any remaining cakes will be sold after school. In the afternoon, we will hold a toy swap in the school hall. Children can bring items to donate to school on Friday 20th May. These can be books, toys, games, cuddly toys etc., but all must be in good condition please. Children who donate an item for this toy swap will be given first opportunity to purchase a toy or book for £1.

Please send any cakes you would like to donate with your child on Friday 20th May.

Thank you for your support.
