Welcome to Eckington Camms C of E Nursery
We are really looking forward to getting to know you and your child and thank you for choosing Camms to be the first step in the exciting journey your child takes into education. We know it can be a daunting time for parents/carers and for the children too, who may be excited, scared, shy, nervous, boisterous! All of these are perfectly understandable feelings. If you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact us through the school office or by email : info@camms.derbyshire.sch.uk
'Stay and Play'sessions
Come and join us on the ‘Stay and Play sessions’ 1.30pm until 3pm on Tuesday 5th April and Friday 8th April. This is an opportunity to show you and your child round nursery and meet some of the other children, parents and carers.
Talk about their nursery day using the visual timetable pictures we have given you. It really helps them settle if they know what to expect.
How to help your child settle at Nursery
Please label all clothes. This really helps us and ensures your child’s belongings are not lost.
Early learning experiences can be messy but great fun! Paint, sand, mud and water are fantastic learning tools but can be messy. We will do our best to make sure your child wears an apron, but some spare clothes would be helpful.
If you think your child is likely to have toilet accidents some spare clothes would be appreciated.
Snacks
We do provide fruit and a drink for the children. A voluntary contribution of £3.50 each half term helps us to provide the additional snacks and resources for fun learning activities such as playdough and baking. This can be given directly to nursery staff. We love to provide such experiences and are very grateful for your support.
Start dates
It can be a big change and unsettling starting nursery for the first time so we will have shorter nursery sessions for the first week.
Week beginning Monday 25th April start 1.10pm Finish 3.10pm
From the following week: 2nd May (Bank holiday school closed) the Afternoon nursery session will start at the usual time of 12.15pm (register closes at 12.30pm) and children can be collected between 3pm – 3.15pm.
Thank you for your support – we look forward to working with you to make your child’s learning experience a fun, exciting and safe.
