GEOGRAPHY

Geography provokes and answers questions about the natural and human world. It develops knowledge of places and environments throughout the world, an understanding of maps, and a range of problem-solving and investigative skills both inside and outside the classroom.

We are fortunate to have the Eckington Woods right on our doorstep and these are used to facilitate outdoor learning of a geographical nature when the opportunity present itself.

School visits are often based around the current geography topic (especially in the summer!) and help the children to gain first-hand experiences of the subject.

Included below are files which detail the curriculum progression through the Rising Stars framework.  this framework is based on the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) from the National Curriculum, but break them down into smaller, more progressive steps.

Also included are references to 'Voyagers' these are Rising Stars-specific texts which we do not always use.
