HISTORY

History fires pupils’ curiosity about the past in Britain and the wider world. Pupils consider how the past influences the present, what past societies were like, how they were organised and what beliefs and cultures influenced peoples' actions. As they do this, pupils develop a chronological framework for their knowledge of significant events.

Our curriculum covers time from the Stone Age right through to modern (ish) history and allows the children to become critical thinkers as well as gaining factual knowledge.

Learning from the mistakes, and triumphs, of the past is an important skill to develop.

Included below are files which detail the curriculum progression through the Rising Stars framework.  this framework is based on the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) from the National Curriculum, but break them down into smaller, more progressive steps.

Also included are references to 'Voyagers' these are Rising Stars-specific texts which we do not always use.
