Compassion

Compassion

11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy

James 5:11 NIV

Compassion

What is Compassion?

Well the 'standard' definition is:

  1. sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.

We think this sounds a bit 'wait for something bad to happen and then act', whereas to us, being compassionate is more that reacting.  It is all about looking out for each other and being there before misfortune happens.  It's about being a friend and noticing if someone is 'having a wobble' and being preventative.

'Paying it forward' is a part of compassion that is overlooked and we encourage at every turn.

Being a compassionate member of Camm's goes beyond pity and sympathy; it means offering a hand to help, a shoulder to share a burden, a smile to light up the dark and kind word to show you care.
