The children will also extend their knowledge of different materials and their properties in Science by completing a range of investigations.

This topic will extend children's understanding of what help us to stay healthy. The children will learn about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. We will also being look at life cycles and what parents need to do to look after their babies.

Why do animals need a habitat?

 

This topic will extend children's understanding about our world. Through the topic they will explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive. The children will also learn that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited. The children will consider carefully how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other. This knowledge will be demonstrated in variety of ways, including through the use of simple food chains.
