Section 1
This sets out our school ethos, values and overall approach to safeguarding, together with some useful terms and acronyms.
All associated with Camm’s school take the safeguarding, care and welfare of the children in our care very seriously. This folder contains documentation of both a statutory nature together with recommended procedural polices.
This is not where our commitment to child safety, protection and safeguarding begins or ends. As a staff, we are aware of the dangers faced by our children, the external factors that can affect them and some of the pastoral problems these present.
At all times we strive to provide a safe and secure environment where children can flourish, but understand that there may be times when observations and conversations lead to difficult choices and decisions. The information contained within this folder is designed to make those decisions easier to manage in the correct way to ensure the best outcomes for all children.
We work on the premise of ‘If in doubt: shout’, ensuring that information is shared and all concerned are aware of any potential dangers.
In 2020, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has had significant impact in several areas of safeguarding. Rather than amend each policy, a separate ‘Covid-19’ statement is included in this folder giving a broad statement that will apply to all policies, as relevant, and all actions within school.
Throughout all of the documents in this folder, Eckington Camm’s (Endowed) CE (VA) Primary School is referred to as Camm’s. This is how we refer to ourselves on a day-to-day basis and how we are best known in the community.
